FRIDAY
OCTOBER 5, 2012
We were up early this morning because
BALLOON VIEW RV PARK
where we have stayed for 3 nights,
needed our space for Balloon Festival customers.
We were rewarded for being early birds
by the sighting of more than ten
individual balloons passing overhead.
The first of the day for us at 7:52 AM.
This one came so close
I was able to see the propane
burner flame
when it blasted.
Number 010.
It was exciting to get two
in the same picture frame.
This one was
right overhead.
The same balloon as
he progressed
North, closer to the
Sante mountains that
surround Albuquerque.
We were on the road to Taos by 9:06 AM,
and arrived at TAOS RV PARK by 12:21 PM.
It was only 137 miles north east.
On our way into town we spotted a nice
looking restaurant and returned there
for a Buffalo Burger, home fries, slaw and salsa
luncheon plate for $10 each.

RESTAURANT
As our waitress told us the history of the
building, we were awed by the fact
that it had been built in 1666, and
recently purchased by the present owner
who invested $3,000,000 to renovate it.
CEILING BEAMS
are the originals
from 1666.
Our waitress could remember her parents
bringing her to that building when the Dance Hall in the
rear of the building was open.
She later danced there as she grew into adulthood.
She took us to see the work being done
to renovate the Dance Hall.
We ventured across the road from
lunch to the SAN FRANCISCO de ASIS
parish Church which was
completed in 1815.
