SEPTEMBER 29 - FAREWELL to FANTASY and Travel to FLAGSTAFF, AZ

SATURDAY
SEPTEMBER 29, 2012

Our First FANTASY RV TOUR
came to its conclusion
this morning, as we all gathered
for a Continental Breakfast
at the Wyllie's camp site.

Even the ELK strolled by to
bid us farewell.
Brian and I took off with our cameras
for one last shot.

One greeter came to be our
"fareweller".

We left our campsite at 10:48 AM,
 and headed to FLAGSTAFF, AZ
via SR 64 South, and then got onto Interstate 40 EAST.
As we entered FLAGSTAFF, the elevation was 6,906 ft.
We arrived at Kit Carson RV Park by  12:17 PM.
It was a short 84 mile journey.

One of the first things I spotted on our site
was a giant mushroom.  It was as wide
as a one dollar bill is long.

They were as pretty as two
golden pancakes.

God blessed us when we drove into
Flagstaff for 5 PM Mass
at St. Pius X Chapel of
San Francisco De Asis Catholic Parish.

The Music Ministry was rich with
a Violinist and Guitarist,
and excellent sound system.
The entire congregation
participated in Singing,
and the Church was literally
filled with Songs of Praise.
What a Joyfilled Liturgy!

In one of the front pews sat a young couple
with two adorable blonde daughters
in the age range of 3 years old and
18 months old.  Mom and Dad
were both holding their
newborn sons, born on
September 19th.

This was the infants first time at Mass,
and they were perfect Angels.
I had the pleasure of taking
their first family picture.
I will be praying for
Andrew and Megan
and their precious family,
and remember them with much Joy.

During part of the Mass,
we prayed the Prayer of Saint Francis,
which is part of their Sanctuary.

The Chapel appears to be in a former
School Building.
The parish is in the midst of a Building Fund Campaign.

We felt so welcome when visitors were
invited before Mass began,
to raise their hands to
indicate they were Visitors.
Father then asked each
person where they were from.

One couple was from Minnesota
and said they were in the area,
celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Father later called them forth for a
Special Blessing.

After Mass, Russ and I had time
to talk with the Musicians as well
as Father Pat,
after I took the young family's picture.
Just like at home,
we were the last to leave
the Church.
