SEPTEMBER 30 - FLAGSTAFF, AZ to GALLUP, NM

SUNDAY
SEPTEMBER 30, 2012

The temperature this morning was 51 degrees.
Fall is in the air.
We were ON THE ROAD AGAIN by 9:20 AM.
Interstate 40 East was our path to Exit 285 where we took SR180 East from Holbrook,
in order to enter PETRIFIED FOREST NATIONAL PARK  from the South.
We picked up salads at a Burger King, to take along
to the Park.

By 12:45 PM we entered Petrified National Forst Park,
and stopped at the Visitor's Center to see
their  22 minute documentary video at 1 PM.
We took a walk along the trails around the Visitors Center
and then had lunch in our RV.
The petrified logs and rock slices
were like pieces of rock candy.
The rainbow colors
 begged to be photographed.

I loved the Raspberry color

What a bargain at $l0.98 each.

Chunks of Petrified Wood,
were used in creating this entrance column.

One specimen reminds me of the
