Fantasy RV Tours arranged a special Bus tour for us
beginning at 8 AM through Noon, today.
We stopped at YAKI POINT, as well as
as you can see in the photos.
They speak for themselves.
Petrographs are painted images on walls.
These were painted in 1932,
(at the time the Watchtower was built),
by Indian artist Fred Kabotie
depicting Hopi legends.
The spiral staircase creates
several balconies, and
the underside of each is
etched with Pictographs.
Petrographs
Rita and Russ Goebert
in front of the major
Petrograph.
After our official touring with Fantasy was
finished, we had lunch in the Yavapai Lodge Cafeteria.
They have good food, at fair prices.
Russ especially liked their Salisbury Steak,
with Mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes,
along with a side of corn for $7.95.
My Chef Salad was $8.25, and made to order.
After lunch, we took the Shuttle to the Lost and Found,
near the Train Station,
to turn in a camera Russ had found yesterday.
We then returned to the Visitors Center to see
their documentary film.
A little after 4 PM, we again took the Blue Shuttle
to the crossover point, and took the Red Shuttle
to MOHAVE POINT to see the SUNSET
at 6:21 PM.
Our ride back was in the dark but
our bus driver spotted another
Male ELK, and paused for
folks to take pictures.
