"Variety is the Spice of Life"

Take a look at the Rainbow of Colors
God created  to give us Joy today.

Steller Jay

Sea Star

Sea Cucumber

REDWOOD CONE
The seed from the cone is the size of a tomato seed.

RAVEN

RANGER TREVOR NIMROD
in STOUT GROVE,
 of REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK

The Awesome COASTAL REDWOODS

So TALL (average 350 - 376 feet tall),
I could not get a picture
from ground to sky in one view.

A cozy space for two,
and the tree was still alive.

So WIDE we could hold hands
and need approximately 8 people
 to get around it.
One tree we measured with our tape
 was 515 inches around.

BLACK OYSTERCATCHER

The one and only Surfer
 we have seen, so far.

Rainbow Sherbet Silhouette

Today we began our experience of CALIFORNIA.
 We saw some new BIRDS.
We took a RANGER guided walk
 in REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK.

We started and finished our day by the SEA.

We have now driven 6,171 miles since leaving home.

  1. You are such a great photographer! I have really enjoyed all the pictures. I'll bet it's hard to pick the ones to post when you have finished a day and find that you took over 200 pictures.

  2. I take ten to twenty for each one that I post. So many times I experiment with the camera settings because I really don't know what will turn out best. Catching waves for example, with the time delay of a digital, and photos in the fog, are really challenges. Even the flower close-ups are not as easy as in your quiet garden. Here we have to deal with almost constant wind which makes focusing difficult.
