WEDNESDAY
AUGUST 1, 2012
We started our day at 10 AM, and by 10:30 AM, we were crossing the Columbia River.
We stopped to take pictures of the lumber yard
with extremely long logs, in the harbor area, under the bridge.
We soon began to understand
We soon began to understand
the importance of the lumber industry in this area,
and where all the log trucks we had
been seeing, were going..
When we crossed the Columbia River, we were officially
in OREGON,
pronounced OR - E - GUN, by the natives.
"We are now on US 30 to the Coast". Russ reminded me that
we have traveled US 30 before, while in Amish Country
of Pennsylvania, near Lancaster.
It made me think of our friends
across from Beacon Hill Campground
in Ronks, PA.
We arrived in TILLAMOOK, OREGON,
at PLEASANT VALLEY RV. PARK,
with enough time to spare, for Russ to
go to LES SCHWAB TIRES,
to get two new front tires for the truck.
Our total miles for today was 148 miles.
